Coming back from a six-run deficit, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Saint Louis Cardinals 7-to-6.

For the first time during the 2022 season, Tony Gonsolin had a poor start but went five innings. He did not have his best control. Every Major-League starter has at least three stinkers during the season. Gonsolin had his first one Wednesday where he allowed five runs. During this series, the Cardinals had the amazing knack of collecting two-out hits. Going into the All-Star break, Gonsolin is undefeated with a 2.00 ERA.

Alex Vesia struggled in the sixth when he allowed a run.

Caleb Ferguson, Craig Kimbrel, and Evan Phillips were brilliant in relief.

For the first time since 2017, the Dodgers came back from a six-run deficit. The Dodgers have never had any success against right-hander Adam Wainwright during his seventeen-year Major-League career, and they did not succeed against him. However, Dodger hitters exhibited incredible patience to chase Wainwright after 5.1 innings.

In the seventh inning, the Dodgers began their amazing comeback. Since Sunday, Freddie Freeman has been on fire. After Freeman singled, Will Smith homered. In the eighth, Mookie Betts had an important double, and Trea Turner singled in Max Muncy and Betts. In the ninth, Muncy had a sacrifice fly, and Hanser Alberto, who has had a rough first season in a Dodger uniform, singled in the winning run.
