When the Los Angeles Dodgers signed left-handed Andrew Heaney in November 2021, many Dodger fans groaned. Twice during the 2022 season, Heaney with left shoulder inflammation was on the IL. While Heaney pitched well, he regularly allowed many home runs. The Dodgers should not re-sign Heaney.

Heaney is a fastball and slider pitcher. The modern analytics love Heaney who strikes out many per outing, but this left-handed journeyman does not experience much success during his Major-League career. With the Dodger supreme coaching, Heaney improved even though he gave up 14 in 78.2 innings. Throughout the 2022 season, the Dodgers used Heaney as a starter, but in the NLDS against the San Diego Padres, the Dodgers used Heaney as a reliever. In that role, Heaney performed well.

Since the Dodgers does not have confidence in Heaney, Heaney needs a new team in the 2023.
