Facing a historically poor team, the Los Angeles Dodgers began their six-game road trip with a 3-to-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Before the game, both Max Muncy and Corey Seager took batting practice on the field. The Dodgers hope Muncy and Cody Bellinger can return at the end of the next series, and Seager will return soon after.
Trevor Bauer bounced back from a disastrous outing. He began using his changeup with his high fastball to baffle the Diamondbacks. He could land his breaking balls for strikes. While walking three, he struck out eight in seven innings.
Steven Souza, Jr., had a game of his career. After he torn his peck in 2017 and every ligament in his knee, he thought he would never play Major League Baseball again. This spring after being released by the Houston Astros, the Dodgers must convince Souza to try baseball again.
Friday, Sousa made a circus catch and hit an eighth-inning solo home run. After a walk to Gavin Lux, Andy Burns doubled Lux to third. Lux scored on Mookie Betts’ sacrifice fly, and Burns scored on the Diamondback pitcher’s balk.
