On a beautiful Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers inched out the San Diego Padres 2-to-1. Since the San Francisco Giants defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Dodgers remained two games behind with five games to play.
After a tough September, Walker Buehler performed brilliantly for seven innings. He held the Padres hitless for four innings. Joe Kelly pitched a good eighth, and while allowing a solo home run, Blake Treinen earned a save.
The Dodgers scored on a run in the first inning thanks to doubles by both Mookie Betts and Trea Turner. In the third, AJ Pollock singled in Trea Turner.
