On a picturesque Sunday afternoon at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Detroit Tigers 6-to-3.

The start after Walker Buehler’s first Major-League shutout, he struggled through five scoreless innings. He did not have his pinpoint control as he did last Monday. Only once he retired the lineup in order. Sometimes during the season, every starter does not have his best stuff, but the great ones figure out how to win when they do not have everything working. Buehler is one of the great starters in the Major Leagues.

So far this season, the Dodgers go if Freddie Freeman gets hits. Freeman had two hits. The Dodgers took advantage of the Tigers’ sloppy defense to score their runs. For the first time in a week, Cody Bellinger had a hit, a double.

Although both Tommy Kahnle, who was making his first Major-League appearance since Tommy John surgery, and Alex Vesia pitched wonderfully, both Phil Bickford and Justin Bruihl toiled, allowing three runs. Craig Kimbrel closed out the game by pitching satisfactorily.
