The Los Angeles Dodgers handed the Arizona Diamondbacks their seventeenth consecutive loss as they inched out the Diamondbacks 9-to-8.

Other than Edwin Uceta and Victor Gonzalez, the Dodger pitchers performed magnificently. González is usually dependable, and every pitcher can have a bad day. However, Uceta is rarely good when he performs in the Major Leagues. Before Sunday’s game, Uceta replaced Mitch White, who pitched poorly on Saturday, on the active roster.

Tony Gonsolin with shoulder inflammation has struggled since he was activated from the IL. In his previous starts, he struggled with his control, but Sunday, he pitched from the stretch all the time. It seemed to solve his control problems when he had no walks during his 3.2 innings.

The Dodger offense exploded without Mookie Betts. Albert Pujols had a three-run homer, and AJ Pollock had three hits.
