On a beautiful Friday night at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers used five home runs to swat the Texas Rangers 12-to-1.
While the Dodgers had a great night as the offense and pitching performed well, both Max Muncy and Cody Bellinger must leave the game. After hitting a two-run home run in the first inning, Muncy felt tightness in his right side. Later, Bellinger left with tightness in his hamstring. The Dodgers hope neither injury is serious nor involves an IL stint.
The Dodgers had three first-inning home runs by Muncy, Justin Turner, and Gavin Lux. Albert Pujols and Will Smith also homered.
After having two poor starts, Clayton Kershaw looked like himself as his velocity on the fastball increased. In his six innings, using all his pitches effectively, he struck out nine and walking none. Both Jimmy Nelson and Mitch White pitched effectively in relief.
