On another beautiful Thursday evening at ds, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Chicago Cubs 5-to-3.

Thursday, the longtime Dodger scout Mike Brito who was 87 passed away. He worked for the Dodger organization for almost forty-five years. Brito signed over thirty future Major Leaguers, including Fernando Valenzuela, Yasiel Puig, and Julio UrĂas.

Tony Gonsolin had another superior 7-inning outing. He did not have his best control with a slider, but his splitter baffled the young Cubs. While Gonsolin allowed a two-run homer to Christopher Morel, he did not have any high-stress innings.

Brusdar Graterol left the game with right side soreness, and he will undergo tests on Friday.

Phil Bickford was brilliant as he finished the eighth for the injured Graterol.

The Dodgers used four home runs: a two-run homer by Gavin Lux, a homer by Justin Turner, and two homers by Mookie Betts.

In the ninth, Craig Kimbrel got two quick outs but could not get the last out. Many Dodger fans want their favorite team to replace Kimbrel, who likes to give us a heart attack, as their closer, but with the injuries to all the relievers, the Dodgers cannot replace Kimbrel. Luckily, Alex Vesia got the last out.
