On a blistering hot Sunday afternoon in Anaheim, the Los Angeles Dodgers used four home runs to complete the sweep of the Los Angeles Angels 8-to-3.

Making his Major-League debut, Keibert Ruiz homered in his first at-bat. Because of a neck injury, Will Smith put on the Injury List. Ruiz handled the Dodger pitchers beautifully on Sunday.

Dustin May struggled through his 4.1 innings. Since he does not have an effective changeup or breaking ball, he could not strike out any Angel hitter. He could not survive without constant contact.

Edwin Rios after making a fantastic defensive play at third base and hitting a double had to leave the game with a hamstring injury.

Max Muncy, who had been slumping, hit a two-run home run. Matt Beaty had three hits, including a home run. Corey Seager, who broke out of a mini-slump, hit a three-run homer.

Again, the Dodger bullpen did a magnificent job. Dennis Santana was the unsung hero.

Sunday was when Major League Baseball celebrated the beginning of the Negro Leagues. Without these amazing leagues, baseball would not have had Jackie Roosevelt Robinson, Roy Campanella, Don Newcomb, and Willie Mays. Before Robinson broke the color barrier in the Major Leagues, the Negro Leagues gave opportunities to Josh Gibson, Satchel Page, Cool Papa Bell, etc.
