On a picturesque Friday night at Dodger Stadium where the Dodgers held a beautiful tribute to the everlasting memory of Vin Scully who passed away Tuesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers pommeled the San Diego Padres 8-to-1.

Before the game, the Dodgers put Clayton Kershaw on the IL with lower back pain and recalled Reyes Moronta. They activated Chris Taylor with a fractured foot and demoted James Ottoman to Oklahoma City.

After an emotional pregame tribute to the late Vin Scully, the Dodgers scored four runs in the first and another four runs in the third. Taylor had a two-run double. Cody Bellinger had a two-run double. Will Smith had three hits.

In the first, Tony Gonsolin toiled, throwing thirty pitches, but he settled down and managed to perform five innings. While he struggled with the command of his fastball, he finally figured it out to earn his thirteenth win of the 2022 season.

David Price, Moronta, and Phil Bickford, who allowed a run in the ninth inning, continued the Dodger bullpen’s dominance.
