Although the San Francisco Giants clinched at least a tie with the Los Angeles Dodgers at the top of the National League Western Division, the Los Angeles Dodgers overcame a four-run deficit to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-to-6.

Clayton Kershaw started but did not look like himself. He could not throw a sharp breaking ball, so he allowed three runs in his 1 2/3 innings. After throwing 42 pitches, manager Dave Roberts took out the injured 33-year-old lefthander. Later, it was revealed Kershaw again had discomfort in his left forearm, usually means Tommy John surgery for a pitcher. Since Kershaw is a free agent this upcoming winter, he might have thrown his last pitch as a Dodger on Friday, October 1st, 2021.

Brusdar Graterol struggled following Kershaw, but the rest of the bullpen performed well even though Joe Kelly allowed a run in the eighth.

Trea Turner homered twice, including a grand slam. The Dodgers scored three runs, including a pinch-hit home run by Matt Beaty.
