On Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers walloped the Cincinnati Reds 8-to-5. Since the San Francisco Giants lost to the Atlanta Braves, the Dodgers are only one game out of first place in the National League Western Division with fifteen games to play.

Clayton Kershaw had a fabulous five-inning start to earn his first win since June 1st. He relied on his breaking pitches, just showcasing his fastball. He had his customary terrific control.

Tony Gonsolin piggybacked on Kershaw’s fantastic start. Unlike his last Tuesday’s start where he had everything working, he had no feel for his forkball. Frequently, he had the ball slipping out of his hand.

Corey Seager, Will Smith, and Gavin Lux hit home runs. For the last week, the Dodgers had used all the offensive weapons to score.
