Of course, the San Francisco Giants won to maintain a 2½games over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers walloped the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-to-1.

Clayton Kershaw returned to the starting rotation after a 2½ month absence while he healed a forearm strain. He looked great in his 4 1/3 innings. His velocity was good, and as the game proceeded, his curveball improved.

Phil Bickford, Alex Vesia, Corey Knebel, and Mitch White, as usual, performed magnificently.

In the first, Corey Seager’s single scored Mookie Betts, and Justin Turner’s double scored Trea Turner and Seager. In the sixth, Austin Barnes’ double scored in Gavin Lux, and in the seventh, Justin Turner homered.
