On a perfect Tuesday night for baseball at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 3-to-1, and the Dodgers pulled into 1½ games behind the division-leading Giants.
Walker Buehler hurled 6 2/3 magnificent innings. For the first time during his career, Buehler used changeups for strikeouts. He dominated the Giants, and he should not allow a run. He should have pitched seven innings, but Gavin Lux made an error that allowed the Giants to score.
Joe Kelly pitched well for 1 1/3 innings. Although Kenley Jansen struggled at the first, soon he found his dominant self.
Chris Taylor’s first inning double scored Max Muncy and Cody Bellinger. In the third, Muncy blasted his seventeenth home run.
