Pitching out of a bases-loaded jam, Kenley Jansen led the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-to-0 victory over the San Diego Padres.

Tony Gonsolin, making a spot start because the Dodgers are playing seventeen consecutive games, pitched magnificently for 4.2 innings. He established a career-high 8 strikeouts. He used blazing fastball and cutter. He needs to realize his quality of pitches is good enough to throw any pitch in the strike zone and get any Major Leaguer out. At times during his Wednesday outing, he made the upcoming Padres look silly.

Blake Treinen has not allowed a run yet in 2020, and his 1.1 scoreless innings enabled him to earn the victory. Pedro Báez as usual pitched brilliantly. Again, Brusdar Graterol dazzled in his inning. Although Scott Alexander loaded the bases in the inning, Jansen bailed him out with his two-seam fastball and cutter. During the 2020 season, the Dodger bullpen has been unsung heroes.

Throughout the Major Leagues, the offense in the 2020 season has decreased from the 2019 season. The Dodgers lately have struggled offensively. Some know-it-all Dodger fans have criticized manager Dave Roberts for not bunting. Wednesday, during the fifth inning when the Dodgers scored two runs, both Chris Taylor and Austin Barnes bunted.

In the eighth inning, the slumping Cody Bellinger went the other way for a run-scoring double, and Justin Turner had a three-run blast.
