The Dodgers finished their seasonal series against the Miami Marlins with a ten-inning 3-to-2 victory. They lost only one game against the Marlins.

Pushed into an emergency start when Tony Gonsolin with a forearm strain went on the IL, Michael Groves performed well for 4.2 innings. Grove, who started the 2022 season in Double-A at Tulsa, was impressive with issuing a walk and striking out four.

Will Smith, who announced he will participate in the World Baseball Classic in March, blasted a two-run homer. Cody Bellinger, who was the placed runner in the tenth, scored on Freddie Freeman’s ground out.

David Price, Caleb Ferguson, and Evan Phillips hurled brilliantly in relief. Craig Kimbrel was magnificent in the ninth, but he loaded the bases with one out in the tenth. Chris Martin put out the fire in the tenth and earned the save.
