On a warm Saturday evening at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Miami Marlins 7-to-0.

After having Tommy John surgery in May 2021, Dustin May dominated the Marlins for five innings in his return to the Major Leagues. Battling his nerves during the first inning, May struggled with his control. After that, he had a blazing fastball, a tremendous cutter, an excellent curveball, and a new changeup. He is back, and May should give a boost to the Dodger starting rotation. He allowed only one hit, and he retired the last thirteen hitters May faced.

Caleb Ferguson, Chris Martin, and Phil Bickford performed beautifully in relief.

Both Will Smith and Justin Turner blasted three-run homers.
