Monday, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Chicago White Sox. The Dodgers have not won a game during this spring training.

Today, both Max Muncy and Caleb Ferguson made their spring training debuts. While Muncy did not get a hit, he played third base. After he injured his UCL on the last day of the 2021 regular season, many baseball-knowledgeable people and Dodger fans thought Muncy might not be ready for Opening Day. He looked good, and with the DH coming to the National League, Muncy might be the Dodger DH for the first two weeks of the regular season.

Ferguson missed the entire 2021 regular season after undergoing Tommy John surgery during September 2020. Before debuting in the Major Leagues in 2018, Ferguson had undergone Tommy John surgery. While he struggled a little with his control, he pitched a scoreless inning displaying good velocity and movement. At some point during the 2022 season, the Dodgers hope Ferguson will contribute to their bullpen.

Both Jake Lamb and Austin Barnes homered. The Dodgers hope Lamb will make the team a reserve player. In 2017, Lamb as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks hit 30 home runs and was an All-Star. He suffered a major shoulder injury. Since then, he has performed badly offensively. The Dodgers understand they need a strong bench to thrive through a 162-game season. With Edwin RĂos returning and Matt Beaty staying in the Majors, the Dodgers should have a stronger bench than they had in the 2021 season.
