On a perfect Sunday afternoon for baseball at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers ended their theoretical first half with a dramatic walk-off 7-to-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Dodgers remained two games behind the first-place San Francisco Giants.
Tony Gonsolin and Scott Alexander struggled and allowed all four runs. The rest of the pitchers performed well and will have four days’ rest.
Mookie Betts led-off the Dodger offensive game with a home run. In the eighth inning, the Dodgers scored three runs on singles by Justin Turner and Chris Taylor and when Will Smith was hit by pitch. In the ninth, after Albert Pujols had a single and the Diamondbacks intentionally walked Betts, Mincy blasted his team-leading nineteenth home run.
