No Runs Equal a Loss for the Dodgers

On a beautiful Wednesday afternoon in the Nationals’ Park, for the first time since September 2019, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Washington Nationals 1-to-0.

Julio Urías pitched well for six innings and allowed a run. He had quick outs until the fifth inning when he first allowed a hit. He had only three strikeouts by using his “slurve.” Although he had good control, he had three walks. He should not have received the loss, but baseball blames the pitcher for the loss even though he does not contribute to the offense with the advent of the DH in the National League.

Yency Almonte performed marvelously in two innings in relief.

Constantly, the Dodgers threatened to score, but they could not get a timely hit. For most of the game, the Dodgers did not have either Mookie Betts or Cody Bellinger.
