On a gorgeous Friday night at Dodger Stadium, for the first time during the 2021 season, the Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a ten-inning 8-to-5 loss to the San Francisco Giants.

Saturday, Cody Bellinger will return to the Dodger lineup after being out since April 5th. His hairline fracture in the fibula finally healed. Bellinger should improve the offense.

Throughout Friday’s game, the Dodgers continually left runners in scoring position. Austin Barnes had a game-tying pinch-hit three-run homer. Albert Pujols was robbed of having a game-winning home run.

Something is wrong with Mookie Betts. Last year after having a .927 OPS, this year Betts has a .778 OPS. He has been popping out a lot. He has not had much power this year. Since he was hit by a pitch on his hand and missing a few games with a stiff lower back, Betts’ play has not been “Mookielike.”

Friday, the Dodger pitching was not good. For the first time during his Major-League career, Walker Buehler had less than four strikeouts. Blake Treinen allowed a three-run homer to Buster Posey, and Kenley Jansen imploded in the tenth inning.
