The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a playoff spot on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon as they beat the San Diego Padres 7-to-5.

Despite receiving bad news on Caleb Ferguson, who has UCL damage, before the game, the Dodgers had a bullpen day. Brusdar Graterol opened and faced five batters. Adam Koralek was credited with the win and pitched 2/3 inning. Although Dustin May for the first time during the 2020 season allowed more than two runs, he pitched 5.1 innings. Victor González pitched an inning. With Kenley Jansen, who threw 28 pitches Tuesday night, unavailable, Pedro Báez with decreased velocity closed the game.

Mookie Betts stole three bases. AJ Pollock and Chris Taylor homered. Will Smith doubled and singled in 3 runs. Cody Bellinger singled in a run.
