On a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Petco Park, the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched their tenth consecutive playoff berth and decreased the magic number to 2 as they punished the San Diego Padres 11-to-2.

To win their 94th game, the Dodger offense exploded. Clean-shaven Chris Taylor homered. Max Muncy had a 2-run single. Justin Turner blasted two homers, including a grand slam. Trea Turner hit his 20th home run. Cody Bellinger even had a single.

Andrew Heaney pitched well for five innings allowing only two runs. He had better control than his previous start. The Dodgers need Heaney to be effective during the playoffs.

Alex Vesia, Chris Martin, who had a cramp in his hamstring, and Andre Jackson, who was promoted when Blake Treinen went on the IL, pitched brilliantly in relief.
