On a hot Saturday evening at Kauffman Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers pommeled the Kansas City Royals 13-to-3 for their twelfth consecutive victory.

Andrew Heaney started the game for the Dodgers but lasted only three innings. A line drive struck Heaney’s left arm and left a bruise. Since Heaney has spent most of the 2022 regular season on the IL, Manager Dave Roberts was taking no chances with Heaney’s health. Roberts allowed his starter to finish the third. The Dodgers want Heaney to be healthy during the postseason. He allowed two runs in the second.

The Dodger bullpen of Caleb Ferguson, Chris Martin, Phil Bickford, Reyes Moronta, and Hanser Alberto performed well.

The Dodger offense exploded. Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Will Smith, Joey Gallo, and Cody Bellinger homered.
