On an abnormally cool Tuesday evening at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers moved within a ½ game to the first-place San Francisco Giants as they inched out the Atlanta Braves 3-to-2.
Walker Buehler continued his Cy Young Award campaign against a great offensive team even though he allowed two runs, including a solo homer by former Dodger Joc Pederson, over his seven innings. He used his off-speed pitches than his blazing fastball. During his outing, Buehler struck out five while walking two.
Blake Treinen and Kenley Jansen continued the Dodger dominance of the Braves.
The Dodgers waited until they saw Charlie Morton for the second time to start scoring. For the second consecutive game, Mookie Betts homered. The slumping Cody Bellinger singled in the tying run. In the eighth, after a walk to Betts, Corey Seager’s doubled in Betts.
