The Dodgers Scored Enough to Win

On a warm evening at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers inched out the Miami Marlins 2-to-1.

After a difficult trip to Milwaukee, the Dodgers still struggled to score runs against a talented Marlin pitching staff. Mookie Betts, who had a day off Thursday, had three hits. In the seventh, Justin Turner had a single and scored on Trayce Thompson’s double. In the eighth, after Betts tripled, he scored on a mental fielding miscue.

Again, Tyler Anderson pitched wonderfully for seven innings allowing a run. Even though he thought he did not have his best stuff working, he could baffle the young Marlin hitters with all his pitches. He deserved to win his fourteenth game, but he did not receive adequate run support.

Chris Martin performed in the eighth, and Evan Phillips earned the save.
