The Los Angeles Dodgers renewed their longtime rivalry with the San Francisco Giants 3-to-2.
The Dodgers used three solo home runs by Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, and Will Smith to beat the Giants. At no time during the game, the Dodgers could have a rally.
Trevor Bauer despite allowing two home runs in his six innings, pitched better than his last two outings. He used his slider and knuckle curveball to baffle the Giants. While walking one, Bauer struck out eight.
Although the Dodger relievers hurled with runners on base, Victor Gonzàlez, Blake Treinen, and Kenley Jansen did not allow a run.
The value of Cody Bellinger to the Dodgers is immeasurable. His offensive production helps to make the Dodger lineup more potent than without him. Defensively, he makes the team better because he had an enormous range. With him in centerfield, the Dodgers can play Betts in right field. Both Bellinger and Betts have tremendous range enabling them to catch almost everything in reach. They will prevent many runs.
