Welcome Knebel

Last week the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired right-handed reliever Corey Knebel from the Milwaukee Brewers for a player to be named later and cash consideration. Moreover, the Dodgers chose to offer arbitration to all their eligible players.

Before having Tommy John surgery in 2019, Knebel was the most feared reliever in the National League. Knebel returned from his surgery during the abbreviated 2020 season and posted a 6.08 ERA even though his velocity had increased.

If Knebel can return to his pre-surgery form, the Dodgers obtained a steal. Obtaining Knebel probably means Blake Treinen’s tenure as a Dodger has ended.

Unlike most teams, the Dodgers made offers to Austin Barnes, Cody Bellinger, Walker Buehler, Dylan Floro, Corey Seager, and Julio Urìas. Like all Major League teams, the Dodgers suffered unbelievable financial losses because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, they probably will not be active in the free agent market.
